What is RAGS?

RAG a.k.a. Raising and Giving, raises money for charity by organising events and collecting generous donations from both the public and Reading University students. All the money we raise goes to six chosen charities that rotate each year. We take time in choosing six charities we believe to be high priority at the moment, which we hope you agree with and will help us to support them.

But our charity raising doesn't stop there! Since we are the Reading University Student Union's (R.U.S.U.) fundraising society, all the other R.U.S.U. societies' fundraising comes through us whatever charity they want to support!

RUSU RAG is a fairly small society in comparison to other universities, many raising hundreds of thousands of pounds every year. Last year we raised around £7,000 which is a considerable increase from the £2,000 raised the year before. We are looking to expand our profile around Reading and the University and raise even more money this year!
